Our Cebu Trip: All about the Flight back to Manila

We arrived at Mactan International Airport at around 5:00pm. Cab fare was P180.

We checked in on Zest Air counters and paid the terminal fee (P200 each). I was surprised and pissed to know that our flight is going to be 4 hours delayed. So, imagine having an infant in tow, with high fever due to reasons you don't know and you waiting in the airport, sitting there for 4 hours! I was so pissed that I told the FA that if what ever happens to Kat, I'll have them responsible for it. They just keep on apologizing...

It was really the worst feeling a mom like me felt that time. We went and stayed at their medical station where a lovely lady accommodated us. Kat's fever was 38.6  degrees C that time. She was just too hungry then to drink milk. She finished 2 bottles and I made her drink the medicine.

Around 9:30pm, complimentary dinner was served (Jollibee chicken joy and coke). Kat and I fell in line to get ours. Kat was feeling better around that time and I was kinda relieved. But it still didn't cover the fact that we're sitting there like fools and waiting for our flight to arrive from Davao.

Anyway, the flight from Davao arrived at around 10:15 PM and we boarded the plane at around 10:45PM. We arrived to Manila at around 12MN and got home safe via cab (P100 fare).

All in all, I could say it was a wonderful trip for us since it was our first time to be out-of-town as a family. Few mishaps here and there, but I still liked the fact that our time spent in Cebu was (kinda) worth it. :D

Our Cebu Trip: Sky Walk

We sign the standard waivers available at the counter while Aimee, the nurse, offered to watch for Kat while we do the Sky Walk. I was too grateful for her offer since we can't bring Kat with us there. LOL.

It was blistering outside but we have no choice as I was rushing since we have a flight at around 6:20pm and we need to check in by at least 4:30pm. We changed to this horrendous orange tracksuit and since I'm not wearing a rubber shoes, I bought a P20 sock. They have available rubber shoes for you to borrow there.

After changing, the photographer took pictures of us against there logo (BTW, it's forbidden to bring your camera beyond this point). Aimee took Kat and as expected, Kat burst into tears. I keep consoling her from the outside and she was looking at us while we walk the Walk. :D

The walk was brief and there were only certain points you can be taken pictures. Our guide told us what pose we can do while the photographer took more pictures. Around the corner, where there's a building being erected, the construction workers teased us by mimicking our poses and laughing at us.

We finished and I rushed to get Kat. She's not crying anymore, thankfully. I said my thanks to Aimee who was really, really patient with Kat. All the best.

We disrobed the tracksuit and proceeded at the counter to get our photos and certificates. I know that printing the pictures are expensive and we opted to have it copied to a CD. I researched about the charges but it still pained me to hand my P550 over for a CD with 13 pictures. :'(

Chris bought a shirt for P350 as souvenir. Again, ouch!

Anyway, we're done there and we took pictures along the way out of Crown Regency Hotel.

We went back to Robinson's Place to get our things and alight a cab to the airport.

Bye, Cebu!

Or so I think so...

Our Cebu Trip: Sky Adventure Day Tour

We woke up at around 8 am the next day. We planned to do a city tour but we weren't able to since Kat caught a fever. I went to the nearby Mercury Drug and bought paracetamol. She had no appetite to drink milk so I made her drink a lot of water. Her fever was quite high and I can't make her take paracetamol without anything on her stomach. She probably was too tired of our swimming activities the other day.

We checked-out at around 9:30am and proceed to Robinson's. We left our bags at the baggage counter and walked to Crown Regency. I was worried about Kat since she still won't drink milk. I still made her drink a lot of water. I planned to bring her to the hospital once we arrived in Manila.

Anyway, we made our way to the 19th floor to buy our tickets for the Sky Experience Adventure Day Tour. Sky Experience Adventure Day Tour is from 10am to 6pm and it's only P888! Package includes: Lunch Buffet at Wang Shan Lo (Available from 10am to 2pm), 1 Entrance Pass to Sky Level, 1 Sky Ride (Edge Coaster or Skywalk Extreme), 1 4D Theater Show (Lost Island, Dino Rampage & An Ode to Life), Prana Medispa Treat (Body Massage, Foot Massage, Diamond Peel) and free use of Outdoor Swimming Pool. It was a huge bargain especially if you avail them separately!

After I got my change, we proceed to the 16th floor of Tower 2 to reserve our Prana Medispa treat. Chris chose diamond peel while I chose body massage. I scheduled our treats at 1pm.

It was 10:30 am so we decided to eat. Wang Shan Lo Restaurant is located at the 20th floor. When we're there, the lady said lunch will be served at around 11am so we decided to take pictures. It was breathtaking to see Metro Cebu during the day.

We went back inside and picked our lunch from the buffet. Kat was still feeling low so I had her sleep on my lap. I made her eat soup as well. We ate but found nothing spectacular on the food. Just the same Chinese cuisine you could get from any Chinese Restaurant.

We left at around 11:45 and proceed to the 18th floor where the 4D Theatres are located. We waited for 5mins until the previous show end. We chose An Ode to Life for our show. Nothing out of the ordinary. The show only lasted 15 or 20mins.

It was only 12:10 but we decided to go back to Prana Medispa to have our treats. I asked if we can have it earlier than our schedule (I thought the 4d show would take longer) and they agreed. I had Chris take his diamond peel first while Kat and I wait at Prana's lobby. There were lazy boyz there so we took a nap while waiting for Chris to finish. Kat's fever hasn't subsided yet. I was really worried that time that it might be Dengue but she's not showing Dengue symptoms.

Chris finished and he took Kat. It was around 1:30 pm and I rushed to get ready for my massage.I left my things with Chris and the receptionist didn't give me a locker key which is quite alarming since they can just open my locker and get my things. I shrugged that off since I was in much hurry to finish this just to argue with them and it's only my watch that is important in my locker anyway.

I didn't know the name of the lady who massaged me but I can say the massage is disappointing. I don't know whether the service is different between Day Tour Package customers and normal walk-in customers. I will not elaborate since I was just not satisfied. Period.

It was around 3:30 pm and we proceed to Tower 1, 19th floor to get ready for our Sky Experience. We chose Sky Walk, which is located at the 37th floor but you have to go to the 38th floor first and go downstairs to be there.

To be continued...

Our Cebu Trip: Casa Verde in Ayala Cebu

Upon arriving at our hotel, I unpacked our things, hang our clothes and took another shower. After an hour, we left to go Fuente Osmena Circle (jeep fare from La Guardia P7 each) where Chris saw vendors selling native necklaces the other night. We weren't able to buy the night ago since there were cops who raided them. Luckily, they were there and Chris bought 2 necklaces.

After that, we hail a cab to Ayala (P55) to go to the famous Casa Verde branch (located at the 3rd floor behind the glass door, said the lady guard). There are a lot of customers that night and I was 17th on the list. We decided to wait at Timezone and play.

I had Kat ride a car and took pictures. Chris played Resident Evil. After around 30mins or so, I went back to check on the progress at Casa Verde. There were still 7 before me. I went to Timezone and we played some more. After another 10 mins, we're finally going to be served.

We were seated at the couch seats and it's difficult for me since we can't have Kat seated on a high chair since it would block the way. I seated her on my lap instead. Of course, our order was the Brian's Ribs. It's 2 slabs of baby backribs with rice and veggies. We waited for only a couple of mins the our order was served. (Sorry no pictures as it was difficult to juggle Kat on my lap while eating.) I definitely enjoyed the food at it's very delicious and not mention very cheap. It's only P198 each! We paid P500 (P400 for the ribs, P100 for soft drinks in can at P50 each) and left.

We went down the escalator at the terraces and took pictures of us on the fountain.

There was a long line for cab so I decided not to fall in line and wait for cabs who dropped passengers. This trick always work! :D

We reached La Guardia at around 10pm. Cab fare is P60.

Our Cebu Trip: Mactan- Boat Ride and Snorkeling

Our first stop during our wandering was Tambuli West. The pool is under maintenance so we decided to just go to Cebu Beach Club.

The pool there is also under maintenance so we went to their beach. It was not good for swimming as there are a lot of Japanese tourists who were kayaking and jet skiing.

A guy approached us and offered their services. P1500 for jet ski (No way!) and P500 for boat ride around Mactan bay(?). We opted in for the boat ride.

We were toured around by 2 guys, didn't ask for their name. We saw Costabella Resort, Maribago Bluewater and Imperial Cebu. One of them asked if we want to snorkel. Chris wanted to try it, I didn't want to as I want to stick to our budget since it's P200 per gear but I couldn't argue with him since it's his birthday. We went for a stop at a nearby beach I don't know the name.

While they guy went to get the snorkeling gear, some ladies went to us and offered souvenirs and accessories. I keep on saying no as they were really overpriced. Imagine a set of cheap beaded necklace, bracelet and earrings for P200! Heck, I could just buy them at Quiapo for P50! But then again, Chris decided to buy those for Kat. Who am I to argue again? I keep chanting then, it's his birthday, it's his birthday.

Finally, the guy went back and rowed us around the man made island from Imperial Palace Cebu. We then anchored at a small island to snorkel. I held and swam with Kat while Chris went to snorkel. He then offered to hold Kat to let me try snorkeling. I've been around sea water every summer vacation and I'm embarrassed to say I haven't tried snorkeling before. Wow. It was a wonderful experience and very new to me. Sadly, we weren't able to take pictures while snorkeling as we don't have an underwater camera.

After an hour, we went back to Tambuli West. We gave the boatmen P100 for the ride.

We went to the restaurant there and ordered snacks. Chris ordered Club Submarine sandwich while I order fries. The fries were like camote, ew! Luckily, the sandwich is tasty so I just ate what's on Chris' plate. The bill is P400 so we used our stub to pay. The food overall at Tambuli resorts are disappointing and overprice. I wouldn't order them if we haven't bought their day tour package.

The pools were available then so we decided to take a dip on the pool. We also tried their jacuzzi. After 30minutes, we took Kat out as she's already cold. I changed her and waited for Chris to finish his shower. I cleaned up after Chris and went to the reception area to ask them to call a cab.

We waited for a few minutes for a cab to arrive. It was an "Airland" taxi and he didn't agree to have his taxi metered. We're no fool to bite on this again. I asked the receptionist again to call one and waited. We took pictures while waiting.

Luckily, a cab driver dropped tourists at the resort and he agreed to have his taxi metered. He just asked for us to add P50. We grabbed his offer and we're off to our hotel again.

We arrive at La Guardia at around 6:00pm and our cab fare is around P280.
